Organizations

This website is part of the Khangchendzonga Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative (KLCDI). KLCDI-India is a collaborative effort between GB Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment and Sustainable Development (GBPNIHESD), International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD), and regional partner NGOs including The Mountain Institute India (TMI), Himalayan Nature Adventure Foundation (HNAF) and Mutanchi Lom Aal Shezum (MLAS).

Each of these organizations works to conserve mountain environments and improve the lives of people living in mountain communities. Working together with local community members, the organizations have identified the places featured on this website as having potential for ecotourism development. They hope ecotourism in this area will increase awareness of the importance of local biodiversity and conservation, as well as benefit local people’s livelihoods.
